David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that MYRON BLUE, also known as “Chill,” 33, pleaded guilty today before Senior United States District Judge Warren W. Eginton in Bridgeport to one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base (“crack cocaine”).

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, between February and April 2011, BLUE conspired to distribute crack cocaine.  During this time frame, BLUE sold both crack cocaine and cocaine to an undercover agent.

Judge Eginton has scheduled sentencing for June 7, 2012, at which time BLUE faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of up to $1 million for each charge.

BLUE has been detained since his arrest on June 10, 2011.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hartford Police Department under the Project Safe Neighborhood Initiative.  The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan S. Freimann.

The Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative is aimed at reducing gun violence, deterring illegal possession of guns, and improving the safety of residents of Connecticut’s cities. Participants in the initiative include community members and organizations as well as federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
