David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that DALE PEARCE, 53, of Cheshire, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 60 months of imprisonment, followed by seven years of supervised release, for distributing child pornography.

According to court documents and statements made in court, PEARCE distributed child pornography via email on March 8, 2009, and via online chat on August 7, 2009. On December 15, 2009, ICE Homeland Security Investigations agents conducted a search of PEARCE’s residence and seized a computer and other computer storage media. Analysis of the seized items revealed that PEARCE possessed evidence of the email he sent, as well as images of minors, including children under the age of 12, engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

On March 22, 2012, PEARCE pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography.

This matter was investigated by ICE Homeland Security Investigations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anastasia E. King.
