
BRIDGEPORT MAN ADMITS
POSSESSING STOLEN FIREARMS, AMMUNITION
David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that ANTHONY RODRIGUEZ, 21, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty today before United States Magistrate Judge Thomas P. Smith in Hartford to possessing a stolen firearm and ammunition.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on October 24, 2011, RODRIGUEZ, Arthur Preston and Kurt Schneider, both of Fairfield, stole six firearms and 32 rounds of hollow point ammunition from a residence in Fairfield.
RODRIGUEZ is scheduled to be sentenced by United States District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant in Hartford on December 20, 2012, at which time RODRIGUEZ faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years.
RODRIGUEZ has been detained since his arrest on March 8, 2012.
Preston and Schneider have pleaded guilty and await sentencing.
The stolen firearms and ammunition have been recovered.
This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Fairfield Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Tracy L. Dayton and Michael J. Gustafson.
