TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA -- Paul A. Lehrman, 58, of Tallahassee, Florida, was indicted today by a Federal Grand Jury in the Northern District of Florida for filing false tax returns. The indictment was announced by Pamela C. Marsh, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

The three-count indictment alleges that for the tax years 2004, 2005, and 2006, Lehrman failed to disclose a total of approximately $85,540 in income he received in the form of attorney’s fees.

Lehrman faces up to three years in prison on each of the three counts.

The Internal Revenue Service investigated this case, which will be prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant United States Attorney Christopher P. Canova.

An indictment is merely a formal charge by the grand jury. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
