
Drug Dealer Sentenced
Michael J. Moore, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia announces the sentencing of Sherman Dickey, age 49 of Roberta, Georgia. On May 24, 2011, the Honorable C. Ashley Royal, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, sentenced Dickey to serve 120 months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons, followed by 8 years of supervised release and a mandatory assessment fee of $100.00.
On March 10, 2010, Dickey was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute Cocaine Base, 21 United States Code, Section 841(a)(1), 21 United States Code, Section 841(b)(1)(B)(iii) and 18 United States Code, Section 2.
On December 2, 2010, following a jury trial, Dickey was convicted of Possession With Intent To Distribute Cocaine Base.
Agents of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation handled the investigation and Assistant United States Attorney Robert McCullers prosecuted the case.
