Michael J. Moore, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, today announced  that Terrell Croft, age 60, of Moultrie, Georgia, was sentenced on June 9, 2011, by United States District Judge W. Louis Sands, Albany, Georgia, to twelve months imprisonment for embezzlement of postal funds.  Croft will serve six months in the Bureau of Prisons followed by six months of home confinement.  Croft was also sentenced to three years of supervised release following confinement and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $50,000.00.

            On November 10, 2010, Croft pleaded guilty to a One Count Indictment charging him with Embezzlement of Postal Funds, a violation of Title 18 United States Code,  Section 1711.  Croft, a postal employee at the Moultrie, Georgia, Post Office for many years, embezzled approximately $50,000 from November 2004 to April 2007.

            The case was investigated by the United States Postal Service, Office of Inspector General, Special Agent Ellen Massey.  Assistant United States Attorney Jim Crane was the prosecuting attorney.
