Child Sex Offender Sentenced
United States Attorney Michael J. Moore announces the sentencing of Christopher Rowan, age 45. Rowan entered a plea of guilty to Count Four of the Indictment charging him with Sexual Abuse of a Minor, in violation of Title 18 United States Code, Section 2243, while on Fort Benning Military Reservation, Georgia between December 2007 and June 2008.
Rowan admitted to the sexual abuse of a minor and was sentenced to sixty (60) months imprisonment, a $100.00 Mandatory Assessment Fee, three (3) years supervised release. He is also required to register as a sex offender.
U.S. Attorney Michael Moore said, “As a prosecutor, much less as a parent, it sickens me when adults prey on children. By asking the Court to sentence the Defendant to an increased amount of prison time, the United States Attorney’s Office once again made clear that we will spare no efforts when it comes to protecting child victims and making sure that those who victimize them feel the full weight of the Department of Justice coming down on them.”
