
Honduran Pleads Guilty To Illegal Re-Entry

A man who illegally re-entered the United States from Honduras pled guilty on August 16, 2010, in federal court in Sioux City.
Jorge Solis-Pacheco, age 26, from Honduras, was convicted of one count of illegal
re-entry.
At the plea hearing, Solis-Pacheco admitted he had re-entered the United States illegally from Honduras after being deported on January 31, 2008.
Solis-Pacheco came into U.S. Immigration and Customs custody after being arrested in Carroll County, Iowa, for not having a driver’s license.
Sentencing before United States District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett will be set after a presentence report is prepared. Solis-Pacheco remains in custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. Solis-Pacheco faces a possible maximum sentence of 2 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and up to 1 year of supervised release following any imprisonment.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Fletcher and was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
