Mexican man sentenced to prison for illegal re-Entry

A man who illegally entered the United States from Mexico was sentenced on May 6, 2010, to ten months in federal prison.

Cesar Paramo-Razo, age 35, from Mexico but living in Sioux City, received the prison term after a February 17, 2010, guilty plea to one count of illegally re-entering the United States.

Paramo-Razo admitted he illegally re-entered the United States from Mexico after being deported in November of 2003 following a September 18, 2003, conviction for forgery in Woodbury County.

Paramo-Razo was sentenced in Sioux City by United States District Court Judge Donald E. O’Brien. Paramo-Razo was sentenced to ten months’ imprisonment. A special assessment of $100 was imposed. He must also serve a two-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Fletcher and investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
