
Three men charged with illegal re-Entry

Vicente Brito-Ceto, age 24, from Guatemala; Julio Bolivar-Aguilar, age 21, from Mexico; and Hector Alfaro-Aragon, age 30, from El Salvador, have each been charged with one count of illegal re-entry. The charges are contained in Indictments filed on October 21, 2010, in United States District Court in Sioux City.
Brito-Ceto is charged with being found in the United States on or about September 14, 2010, after illegally re-entering the United States from Guatemala following a previous removal from the U.S. on August 28, 2008.
Bolivar-Aguilar is charged with being found in the United States on or about September 14, 2010, after illegally re-entering the United States from Mexico following a previous removal from the U.S. on February 25, 2009.
Alfaro-Aragon is charged with being found in the United States on or about September 27, 2010, after illegally re-entering the United States from El Salvador following a previous removal from the U.S. as an aggravated felon on May 11, 2009.
If convicted, Brito-Ceto and Bolivar-Aguilar each face up to 2 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and up to 1 year of supervised release following any imprisonment.
If convicted, Alfaro-Aargon faces up to 20 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and up to 3 years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
All three men appeared on November 2, 2010, in federal court in Sioux City and were held without bond. Their next appearances for trial are set for January 3, 2011.
As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Fletcher and was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
