
mexican man pleads guilty to illegally entering u.S.

A man who illegally re-entered the United States from Mexico pled guilty on September 30, 2010, in federal court in Sioux City.
Enrique Recinos-Villatoro, age 23, from Mexico, was convicted of one count of illegal re-entry as an aggravated felon and one count of commission of an offense while on supervised release.
At the plea hearing, Recinos-Villatoro admitted he was in the United States illegally and had been deported to Mexico on January 29, 2009. On July 12, 2010, Recinos-Villatoro was arrested by the Sioux City Police Department for traffic offenses.
Recinos-Villatoro was convicted on December 22, 2008, in the Western District of New York for transporting illegal aliens. Recinos-Villatoro was on supervised release for this conviction at the time he was charged in this case.
Sentencing before United States District Court Judge Donald E. O’Brien will be set after a presentence report is prepared. Recinos-Villatoro remains in custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. Recinos-Villatoro faces a possible maximum sentence of 30 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, $200 in special assessments, and 3 years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Fletcher and was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
