Two men charged with illegally re-Entering the united states
as felons

Two men have been charged with illegally re-entering the United States as aggravated felons. The Indictments were filed on August 19, 2010, in United States District Court in Sioux City.

Nery Saud Chacon, age 50, from Guatelama, and Rigoberto Hernandez-Ventura, age 31, from Mexico, were charged in separate indictments with being found illegally in the United States after previously being removed from the United States following a conviction for an aggravated felony.

If convicted, each man individuals faces up to 10 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and 3 years of supervised release following any imprisonment.

Chacon has yet to be arraigned. Hernandez-Ventura’s trial is set for November 1, 2010.

As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The cases are being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Fletcher and were investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
