The Iowa Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that United States Attorney Stephanie M. Rose was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of employees who serve in the Iowa National Guard and Reserve.
The 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions within America’s borders and beyond. According to Richard Rue, ESGR Iowa Chair, “The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees in the military, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and Reserve units.”
“This office has a history of supporting employees called to serve in the military,” said Rose. “I’m proud to carry on that tradition to hopefully ease the strain for those who make personal sacrifices for our country.”
Rose was nominated for the award by Assistant United States Attorney and Army Reserve Brigadier General Patrick Reinert.
