A man who illegally re-entered the United States from Guatemala and used fraudulent documents to gain employment was sentenced on November 10, 2011, to time served of three months in federal prison.
Baudilio Perez a/k/a Jose Enrique Sepulveda, age 30, from Guatemala, received the prison term after a September 27, 2011, guilty plea to one count of illegal re-entry and one count of fraud and misuse of documents to obtain employment.
At the guilty plea, Perez admitted he had been deported from the United States on January 26, 1999, and re-entered the United States in 2000 without permission. Perez was sentenced in Sioux City by United States District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett. Perez was sentenced to time served of three months’ imprisonment. He must also serve a two year term of supervised release.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kevin C. Fletcher and investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Enforcement and Removal Office of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Bureau.
