
Sioux City Man Pleads Guilty To Methamphetamine Conspiracy

A Sioux City man who conspired to distribute methamphetamine pled guilty August 30, 2011, in federal court in Sioux City.
Kory Mammen, 41, from Sioux City, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
During the conspiracy from May 2010 through February 3, 2011, Kory Mammen participated in the distribution at least one and one-half pounds of methamphetamine.
Mammen was previously convicted of a federal felony drug offense in March 2001 in the Northern District of Iowa.
Sentencing before United States District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett will be set after a presentence report is prepared. Mammen remains in custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. Mammen faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment, $100 in special assessments, and 8-years of supervised release following any imprisonment.

Nebraska State Patrol; Iowa National Guard; Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement; United States Marshals Service; South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation; and Woodbury County Attorney’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Forde Fairchild.
