
Iowa City Man Sentenced for Child Pornography Offense
DAVENPORT, IA – On March 23, 2012, Ryan Felts, 27, of Iowa City, Iowa, was sentenced to 60 months of imprisonment for distribution of child pornography, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. United States District Judge Robert Pratt also sentenced Felts to 5 years of supervised release.
On November 30, 2009, Ryan Felts accessed a chat room on a pornography website and posted several images of child pornography. On July 29, 2010, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Felts’ residence and interviewed Felts. Felts admitted posting the child pornography online.
The case was investigated by the United States Department of Homeland Security, the Iowa Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Iowa City Police Department. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
