
Atlantic, Iowa Resident Sentenced to 80 Months for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - On July 27, 2012, Christopher Michael Jespersen, a 29 year old resident of Atlantic, Iowa, was sentenced to 80 months of imprisonment for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in and around Cass County, Iowa. The Honorable James E. Gritzner, Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, also ordered Jespersen to serve a four-year term of supervised release following incarceration.
On March 8, 2012, Jepersen pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, a controlled substance. The conviction was the result of a lengthy investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in and around Atlantic, Iowa. At the time of his guilty plea, Jespersen admitted that from May 2010, until July 2010, he agreed to distribute methamphetamine obtained from an Omaha, Nebraska, source to customers in the Atlantic, Iowa, area.
The investigation was conducted by the Cass County, Iowa, Sheriff’s Office, Cass County, Iowa, County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
