
Terreton Woman Sentenced for Passing Counterfeit Checks at Fort Hall Casino
POCATELLO – Tiffany Horning, 26, of Terreton, Idaho, was sentenced in federal court today to three years probation with six months of home detention for uttering a counterfeit check, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. Horning pleaded guilty to the charge on February 3, 2012.
According to the plea agreement, Horning admitted that on May 22 and May 24, 2010, she passed two counterfeit checks totaling $1,345.36 at the Sage Hill Casino located on the Fort Hall Indian reservation. Horning admitted that she made the checks on her computer and cashed them at the casino. The checks passed at Fort Hall were part of a series of fraudulent checks Horning wrote in Jefferson and Bonneville counties, where she was also prosecuted.
The case was investigated by the Fort Hall Police Department.
