Weiser Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Drug and Firearm Offenses
BOISE – Eucario Ceballos, 27, of Weiser, Idaho, was sentenced today in United States District Court to ten years in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge also ordered Ceballos to serve five years of supervised release following his term of incarceration and forfeit the firearm found in his possession. Judge Lodge also ordered that Ceballos have no contact with any gang members or gang paraphernalia as a condition of his supervised release. He pled guilty on July 2, 2012.
According to court documents, Ceballos admitted to count one of the indictment that charged him with knowingly possessing 50 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it, on November 3, 2011. Ceballos further admitted to count two of the indictment that charged him with possession of a Glock 9 millimeter pistol in furtherance of drug trafficking. Under federal law, anyone who possesses a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime must be sentenced to at least five years in prison and that sentence must run consecutive to the sentence imposed for the drug offense. A federal grand jury in Boise indicted Ceballos on December 13, 2011.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Boise Police Department and Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
