Idaho Falls Man Sentenced for Selling Meth

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 25, 2012

POCATELLO – Edward Behrens, 28, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was sentenced yesterday in United States District Court to 60 months in prison for distribution of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge also ordered Behrens to serve three years of supervised release following his term of incarceration and to complete 200 hours of community service while on supervision. The federal sentenced imposed was ordered to be served concurrently with a state sentence the defendant is now serving. He pled guilty to the charge on May 7, 2012.

According to the plea agreement, on May 25, 2011, an individual made arrangements with Behrens to buy methamphetamine from Behrens. The two subsequently met in Fort Hall, Idaho, where Behrens gave methamphetamine to the person in exchange for cash. Behrens admitted that he knowingly sold methamphetamine to the individual.

The case was investigated by Idaho State Police.
