Springfield, Ill. – U.S. District Judge Richard Mills today sentenced Brett E. Kroeger, 28, of Quincy, Ill., to serve 11 years in federal prison for distribution of methamphetamine in August 2010, as announced by U.S. Attorney James A. Lewis of the Central District of Illinois. Kroeger was also ordered to remain on supervised release for six years following completion of his prison term.

On Feb. 16, 2011, Brett E. Kroeger, 28, of the 700 block of Payson Street, Quincy, Ill., entered a plea of guilty to one count of distribution of methamphetamine in Quincy, on or about Aug. 18, 2010.

In a separate case, Brett’s brother, Anthony L. Kroeger, 24, also of the 700 block of Payson, in Quincy, pled guilty on Feb. 24, 2011, to distribution of methamphetamine in Quincy, on Aug. 18, 2010, and conspiracy to manufacture five or more grams of methamphetamine from July 2010 to Oct. 13, 2010. Anthony Kroeger’s sentencing is scheduled on June 24.

Both men have remained in law enforcement custody since their arrests in January 2011.

The charges were investigated by the Central Illinois Enforcement Group; the Quincy Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration in cooperation with the Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office. The cases are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory M. Gilmore.
