Springfield, Ill. – U.S. District Judge Richard Mills on Friday, June 24, sentenced Anthony L. Kroeger, 24, of the 700 block of Payson, Quincy, Ill., to serve 200 months (16 years, eight months) for methamphetamine offenses. Kroeger was also ordered to remain on supervised release for a total of eight years following completion of his prison sentence.

Anthony Kroeger pled guilty on Feb. 24, 2011, to distribution of methamphetamine in Quincy, on Aug. 18, 2010, and conspiracy to manufacture five or more grams of methamphetamine from July 2010 to Oct. 13, 2010.

In a separate case, Anthony’s brother, Brett E. Kroeger, 28, also of Quincy, was sentenced on June 21, 2011, to serve 11 years in federal prison for distribution of methamphetamine in August 2010. Brett was ordered to remain on supervised release for six years following completion of his prison term.

Both men have remained in law enforcement custody since their arrests in January 2011.

The charges were investigated by the Central Illinois Enforcement Group; the Quincy Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration in cooperation with the Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office. The cases were prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregory M. Gilmore.
