Peoria, Ill. – U.S. District Judge Joe Billy McDade yesterday ordered that David A. Fisher, 53, of Pekin, Ill., serve 188 months (15 years, 8 months) in federal prison for possession of child pornography. Following completion of his prison term, Judge McDade ordered that Fisher remain under supervised release for ten years.

On Jan. 13, 2012, Fisher, of the 1800 block of Columbus Drive, waived indictment and pled guilty to one count of possession of images of child pornography in August 2010. Fisher had previously been arrested and charged in a federal criminal complaint filed in November 2011 and was ordered to remain detained in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk D. Schoenbein prosecuted the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
