NEOSHO COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN POST OFFICE ARSON
WICHITA, KAN. – Jon Michael Beth, 20, Stark, Kan., has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for setting fire to the post office in Stark. He also was ordered to pay $17,341 in restitution.
Beth pleaded guilty to one count of arson. In his plea, he admitted that on July 31, 2008, he set fire to the post office in Stark. He was attempting to conceal his burglary of the post office. The building was leased by the U.S. Postal Service.
Welch commended the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Metzger for their work on the case.
