FEDERAL GRAND JURY RETURNS INDICTMENTS - TWO CHARGED WITH CONSPIRACY TO DISTRIBUTE COCAINE

TOPEKA, KAN. – Ismael Cantu-Santiago, 29, Mexico, and Raul Guzman Martinez, 31, Mexico, both arrested in Riley County, Kansas, have each been charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine and distribution of cocaine on October 22, 2009. Cantu-Santiago is also charged with illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien. If convicted, each face a maximum of twenty years for conspiracy and distribution of cocaine. Cantu-Santiago also faces a maximum of two years for illegal re-entry. The case was investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Riley County Law Enforcement, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Maag is prosecuting.

OTHER INDICTMENTS

The federal grand jury also returned the following indictments:

Felix Damian Simon, 22, Mexico, arrested in Riley County, Kansas, is charged with illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in prison. The case was investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Riley County Law Enforcement, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Maag is prosecuting.

John Wesley Towner, Jr., 21, Topeka, Kansas, is charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm on October 20, 2009. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison. The case was investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Topeka Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot is prosecuting.

Angela M. Dennis, 27, Topeka, Kansas, is charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm on October 28, 2009. If convicted she faces a maximum of ten years in prison. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Topeka Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot is prosecuting.

Johnnie Lee McCall, 25, Topeka, Kansas, is charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm on October 23, 2009. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Topeka Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot is prosecuting.

William P. Roberts, 25, Topeka, Kansas, is charged with two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm on August 3, 2009, and November 30, 2009. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison on each count. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Topeka Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot is prosecuting.

In all cases, defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictments filed merely contain allegations of criminal conduct.
