TOPEKA, KAN. – Armando L. Ramos, 45, Topeka, Kan., has been sentenced to 87 months on federal child pornography charges, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

Ramos pleaded guilty to one count of receiving and distributing child pornography. At Ramos’ plea hearing, prosecutors told the court that forensic examiners found more than 100,000 images of child pornography on three computers, 22 hard drives, and an external drive they seized July 30, 2009, from Ramos’ home in Topeka. The investigation began when German authorities investigating child pornography stored on a peer-to-peer network downloaded child pornography from Ramos’ computer. They alerted Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The photos included children as young as five years old involved in sexual acts.

Grissom commended ICE and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart for their work on the case.
