February 4, 2011

WICHITA, KAN. – Marjory Homan, 63, formerly of Liberal, Kan., has pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to file federal income tax returns, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

In her plea, Homan admitted she did not file income tax returns for calendar years 2004 and 2005 though her income was greater than the minimum filing requirements. The minimum filing requirement was $7,950 for 2004 and $8,200 for 2005.

Sentencing is set for April 20. She faces a maximum penalty of one year in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on each count. Grissom commended the Internal Revenue Service for its work on the case.
