TOPEKA, KAN. – Timothy Glen Caskey, 40, Virginia, Minn., is charged with one count of bank robbery, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said. The indictment alleges that on July 15, 2011, Caskey robbed the Great Southern Bank at 2040 South Princeton Street in Ottawa, Kan.

Caskey initially was charged in a criminal complaint filed Aug. 18, 2011, in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan. The complaint alleged that Caskey entered the bank and gave a teller a note stating: “Give me all your 100's, 50's, 20's. Do it now, I have a gun,” or words to that effect. Caskey took the money and left the bank.

The complaint alleges that after the bank robbery in Ottawa Caskey was arrested in Mexico on a federal kidnapping charge from Minnesota. That indictment alleged that on July 14, 2011, Caskey kidnapped his wife, Roberta Caskey, and fled the state with her.

If convicted on the bank robbery charge, Caskey faces a maximum penalty of 20 years and a fine up to $250,000. The FBI investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sheri McCracken is prosecuting.

OTHER INDICTMENTS

A grand jury meeting in Topeka, Kan., also returned the following indictments:

Mounir A. Elmarrakchi, 23, Overland Park, Kan., and Courtney Copp, 22, Overland Park, Kan., are charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute oxycodone, two counts of distributing oxycodone and one count of possession with intent to distribute oxycodone. In addition, Elmarrackchi is charged with an additional two more counts of possession with intent to distribute oxycodone. The crimes are alleged to have occurred at various times from June 1, 2009, to Sept. 30, 2011, in Johnson County, Kan.

If convicted, they face a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $1 million on each count. The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sheri McCracken is prosecuting.

Terrance Anthony Dean Jr., 21, Topeka, Kan., is charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm while charged with a felony in state district court. The crimes are alleged to have occurred Sept. 19, 2011, in Shawnee County, Kan.

The indictment alleges that while Dean was facing felony charges of aggravated robbery in Douglas County District Court he unlawfully possessed a shotgun and ammunition.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on the marijuana charge, a penalty of not less than five years and not more than life and a fine up to $250,000 on the charge of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime, and a maximum penalty of 10 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the charge of possessing a firearm while charged with a felony in state district court. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Randy Hendershot is prosecuting.

Darryl K. Norwood, 23, Topeka, Kan., is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. The crime is alleged to have occurred March 8, 2011, in Shawnee County, Kan.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Duston Slinkard is prosecuting.

Steven Anthony Hunter, Jr., 33, Topeka, Kan., is charged with escaping from Grossman Halfway House. The crime is alleged to have occurred Sept. 29, 2011, in Leavenworth, Kan.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. The U.S. Marshals Service investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Hough is prosecuting

In all cases, defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictments merely contain allegations of criminal conduct.
