Goddard Woman Pleads Guilty
To Embezzling $141,500

WICHITA, KAN. – A Goddard, Kan., woman has pleaded guilty to stealing $141,500 from the Newton company where she worked, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

Diana L. Fasbender, 45, Goddard, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud. In her plea, she admitted she stole the money during 2010 while she worked as a secretary at Mackey & Sons, Inc., at 1201 Sharps Drive in Newton, Kan.

Fasbender made unauthorized purchases totaling approximately $100,000 on a company credit card. She stole the rest of the money by writing three unauthorized checks on the company’s accounts.

Sentencing is set for Jan. 17. The U.S. Secret Service investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Treaster is prosecuting.
