
Holton Man Sentenced for Filing False Tax Return

TOPEKA, KAN. – Forrest Dean Ireland, 46, Holton, Kan., has been sentenced for filing a false tax return, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.
Ireland pleaded guilty to one count of filing a false tax return for 2008 claiming his taxable income was $170,782 when in fact his taxable income was $280,040.
Ireland was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay $59,546 in restitution.
Grissom commended the Internal Revenue Service and Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Kenney for their work on the case.
