Topeka Man Sentenced to Eight Years
For Selling Methamphetamine
TOPEKA, KAN. – A Topeka man has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for selling methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.
Jay C. Joynt, 44, Topeka, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. In his plea, he admitted that he and co-defendant Amber Y. Martindale conspired to distribute methamphetamine in Topeka. In 2009, Joynt and Martindale sold methamphetamine to undercover investigators on seven occasions. The transactions took place at Taco Casa at 6th and Lane, 2310 S. E. 21st, and a Family Dollar.
Co-defendant Martindale was sentenced to 123 months in federal prison.
Grissom commended the Drug Enforcement Administration and Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Hough for their work on the case.
