PADUCAH, Ky. – A Paducah, Kentucky convicted felon serving a four year sentence in Kentucky State prison on drug trafficking charges was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison followed by a four-year term of supervised release by Senior United States District Judge Thomas B. Russell, for distribution of crack cocaine and marijuana, announced David J. Hale, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky.

Demonte Quinell Williams, age 36, was indicted by a federal grand jury meeting in Paducah, Kentucky on September 13, 2011 on charges of knowingly and intentionally distributing crack cocaine and marijuana. Defendant Williams pled guilty to all charges in the six count federal indictment on February 15, 2012. The plea agreement alleged on six occasions, between July 16, 2011 and August 25, 2011, defendant Williams sold 113.5 grams of crack cocaine and 362.3 grams of marijuana in the Paducah community.

The federal sentence is to be served consecutively to the 4-year term of imprisonment imposed in McCracken Circuit Court in October 2010.

Assistant United States Attorney David Sparks prosecuted this case. The Bowling Green, Kentucky Field Office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) conducted the investigation in partnership with Kentucky State Police DESI West (Drug Enforcement Special Investigations) and the Paducah Police Department, as part of ATF’s ongoing commitment to reduce violent crime and other threats to public safety.
