
NEW ORLEANS MAN ARRESTED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES
RUSSELL DAVID MANSEL, 57, of New Orleans, Louisiana, was arrested yesterday for crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children, announced U.S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, MANSEL was arrested by Special Agents of U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on a criminal complaint charging receipt of child pornography. MANSEL was brought before U. S. Magistrate Judge Louis Moore, Jr. who remanded MANSEL to the custody of the U. S. Marshal’s Service. If convicted, MANSEL faces a possible maximum sentence of forty (40) years imprisonment, followed by up to a lifetime term of supervised release, a $250,000.00 fine and be required to register as a sex offender.
The prosecution of this case is being handled by Project Safe Childhood Coordinator, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba.
