
ILLEGAL ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY TO FALSE REPRESENTATION OF A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER
MARLON CARRASCO-FUGON, age 33, a citizen of Honduras, pled guilty in federal court today before U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier to a one-count indictment charging him with illegal use of a Social Security number, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, CARRASCO admitted that on October 31, 2008, he falsely represented that a Social Security number had been assigned to him by the Commissioner of Social Security for the purpose of obtaining a Louisiana Identification Card.
CARRASCO faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five (5) years, a fine of $250,000.00 and three (3) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment. Sentencing is set for June 2, 2011 at 9:30 A.M.
The case was investigated by U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Fugitive Operations Task Force. The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U. S. Attorney Robert Weir.
