3 DEFENDANTS PLEAD GUILTY IN DRUG CONSPIRACY
MARK CLEON ROGERS, age 34, a resident of New Orleans; MARK TOBIAS age 34, a resident of New Orleans; and DESHON BRIMMER, age 35, a resident of New Orleans, pled guilty yesterday before U. S. District Court Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown to violations of the Federal Controlled Substances Act involving the trafficking of heroin, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
ROGERS, BRIMMER and TOBIAS pled to conspiracy to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin. Each defendant faces a maximum sentence of up to life imprisonment for their role in the distribution of heroin in New Orleans. In addition, each defendant faces eight (8) years of supervised release after confinement because they all have prior drug felonies stemming from state convictions and all defendants face an $8 million fine. ROGERS also faces an additional ten (10) years for being a felon in possession of a firearm, a $250,000.00 fine, three (3) years of supervised release. Sentencing is scheduled for February 2, 2012 for all three defendants.
The case was investigated by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Louisiana State Police. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney W. Scott Laragy.
