SLIDELL MAN SENTENCED TO 2 YEARS FOR ASSAULTING A POSTAL LETTER CARRIER
TRACY TARDIFF, age 28, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, was sentenced today by to U. S. District Judge Stanwood R. Duval, Jr. to two (2) years (24 months) imprisonment for assaulting a postal letter carrier, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Duval imposed three (3) years of supervised release following the term of imprisonment, during which time the defendant will be under federal supervision and risks an additional term of imprisonment should he violate any terms of his supervised release.
According to court documents, a postal letter carrier was delivering mail when he observed TARDIFF attempting to physically harm a female. When the letter carrier tried to help the female, TARDIFF punched the postal letter carrier in the neck and then ran off.
The case was investigated by United States Postal Inspection Service and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Loan “Mimi” Nguyen.
