BROCKTON MAN CHARGED WITH BEING A FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AND AMMUNITION
BOSTON, Mass. - A Brockton man was indicted today in federal court of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz, Eugenio A. Marquez, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Boston Field Division, and Chief William K. Conlon of the Brockton Police Department announced today that JARRID BREWER, 31, of Brockton, was indicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The Indictment alleges that on or about March 2, 2010, BREWER illegally possessed a Harrington and Richardson, Model 926, .38 caliber revolver, 42 rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition and 40 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Brockton Police Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Maxim Grinberg of the U.S. Attorney’s Major Crimes Unit.
The details contained in the indictment are allegations. The defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
