Boston - A Springfield man was sentenced yesterday in federal court to 15 years in prison for carrying a loaded handgun.
Robert “B.O.” Anderson, 28, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Mark L. Wolf to 180 months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. On June 5, 2012, Anderson pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, for
an incident that occurred in 2010.

Ortiz; Guy Thomas, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Boston Field Division; Springfield Police Commissioner William Fitchet; and Hampden County District Attorney Mark Mastroianni made the announcement. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Hart Smyth of Ortiz’s Springfield Branch Office.
