Boston - A registered sex offender, who was charged late yesterday in federal court of possessing child pornography, has agreed to serve 10 years in prison.
Christopher Boucher, 44, of West Brookfield, was charged in United States District Court with possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Boucher agreed to plead guilty to the charge pursuant to a written plea agreement that was also filed yesterday.
On Jan. 30, 2012, Boucher possessed computer media containing digital image and video files depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. According to the plea agreement, Boucher has agreed to be sentenced to 10 years in prison, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender. Boucher’s plea hearing before \Judge Timothy S. Hillman has not yet been scheduled.
United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz, Bruce M. Foucart, Special Agent in Charge of the Homeland Security Investigations in Boston; and Colonel Thomas Alben, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police made the announcement. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven H. Breslow of Ortiz’s Springfield Branch Office.
