St. Mary’s County Cocaine Dealer Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

Greenbelt, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. sentenced Marcus Tyrek Chase, age 27, of Lexington Park, Maryland, today to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute, and possess with intent to distribute, cocaine and crack cocaine in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.

The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Brisolari of the Drug Enforcement Administration - Washington Field Division; and St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron.

According to Chase’s guilty plea, from November 2010 through July 15, 2011, Chase conspired with Brian Deandre Bush, Demetrius Deandre Young, Kerry Alexander Bond, Sr., John Larry Dickerson, William Lamont Young and others to distribute cocaine in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. Bush and Demetrius Young received cocaine from their sources of supply in Maryland, Georgia, Florida and elsewhere. The cocaine was smuggled back to St. Mary’s County where Bush and Demetrius Young supplied Chase and others with powder and crack cocaine for distribution. Law enforcement overheard thousands of cell phone conversations between the defendants, including Chase, relating to their drug activities and the rising prices of cocaine in St. Mary’s County.

Chase was responsible for the distribution of between five and 15 kilograms of cocaine, and between 280 grams and 840 grams of crack cocaine.

Co-defendants Brian Deandre Bush, age 42, and Demetrius Deandre Young, age 22, both of Hollywood; Kerry Alexander Bond, Sr., age 40, of Leonardtown; and William Lamont Young, age 40, of Leonardtown, all of Maryland, previously pleaded guilty to their roles in the conspiracy and are awaiting sentencing. John Larry Dickerson, age 42, of Waldorf, Maryland, also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 140 months in prison.
