Fourth Man Charged in Robbery Conspiracy
Robbery Victim’s Body Later Recovered from Roof Vent of Elementary School
Baltimore, Maryland - A federal grand jury has returned a superseding indictment charging Dale Langston, age 21, of Baltimore County, of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery and interfering with commerce by robbery, in connection with a drug purchase. Langston’s co-defendants, Antoine Manning, age 26; Dennis Morris, age 25; and Scott Snyder, age 25, all of Baltimore, were charged in the original indictment, which was returned on September 10, 2009, and face the same charges.
The indictment was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Acting Special Agent in Charge Joseph Riehl of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Baltimore Field Division; and Chief James W. Johnson of the Baltimore County Police Department.
According to the three count indictment, on July 20, 2006, the defendants used physical force to rob the victim, Zachary Miller, in Baltimore County, of cash he had brought to purchase marijuana. The indictment further alleges that on August 1, 2006, Manning and Snyder illegally possessed a gun, specifically a Rossi .357 caliber pistol.
According to news reports, the body of Zachary Miller was recovered from a roof vent at Riverview Elementary School on August 2, 2006. The investigation into Miller’s death is ongoing.
The defendants face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the conspiracy and for interference with commerce by robbery. Manning and Snyder also face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison for illegally possessing a gun. No court appearance for Langston has been scheduled. Mannning and Langston are currently serving a sentence after being convicted on related state charges. Morris and Snyder remain in federal custody on these charges.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceedings.
