Man sentenced for conspiracy to distribute meth and cocaine

MINNEAPOLIS—Today in federal court, a 34-year-old man was sentenced for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine. United States District Judge John R. Tunheim sentenced Jaime Morales Garcia to 72 months in prison on one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine. Garcia, who was indicted on October 4, 2011, pleaded guilty on January 27, 2012.
In his plea agreement, Garcia admitted that from February 1, 2010, to November 3, 2011, he conspired to distribute between 150 and 500 grams of methamphetamine. From February 24, 2010, to September 16, 2011, Garcia acknowledged that he conducted 12 separate illegal drug transactions with an undercover law enforcement officer. In addition, Garcia admitted that he distributed a total of 81.9 grams of cocaine.
This case was the result of an investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey M. Bryan.
