JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Rockaway Beach, Mo., man was indicted by a federal grand jury today for bank robberies in Columbia, Mo., and Sedalia, Mo.

Kenneth Dewain Parker, 47, of Rockaway Beach, was charged in a two-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Jefferson City, Mo.

Today’s indictment alleges that Parker stole $2,500 from US Bank in Columbia on Sept. 3, 2010. The indictment also alleges that Parker stole $9,150 from Union Savings Bank in Sedalia on Sept. 21, 2010.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Lynn. It was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Columbia, Mo., Police Department, the Sedalia, Mo., Police Department, the University City, Mo., Police Department, the Brentwood, Mo., Police Department and the Taney County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department.
