two windsor men sentenced for meth conspiracy
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – David M. Ketchmark, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that two Windsor, Mo., men were sentenced in federal court today for their roles in a conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in Pettis and Henry counties in Missouri.
John Michael Dick, 38, and Mark Allen Jeter, 39, both of Windsor, were sentenced in separate appearances before U.S. District Judge Nanette K. Laughrey. Dick was sentenced to 10 years and one month in federal prison without parole. Jeter was sentenced to eight years and one month in federal prison without parole.
On Jan. 18, 2012, Dick pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. Dick, a leader in the conspiracy that operated from June 6, 2010, to July 12, 2011, was actively engaged in manufacturing methamphetamine. According to court documents, Dick utilized a significant number of methamphetamine users in order to accumulate the necessary quantities of pseudoephedrine he needed to manufacture methamphetamine. Dick had at least 16 individuals procuring pseudoephedrine on his behalf.
On May 29, 2012, Jeter pleaded guilty to his role in the methamphetamine manufacturing conspiracy. Jeter also pleaded guilty to his role in a conspiracy to possess pseudoephedrine, knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine. Jeter admitted that he traveled to various retail stores and purchased cold and allergy medications containing pseudoephedrine. Jeter also pleaded guilty to possessing pseudoephedrine, knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Dick and Jeter are among 11 defendants who have pleaded guilty to charges contained in a July 28, 2011, federal indictment. The other nine defendants await sentencing.
This case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven R. Berry. It was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, the Pettis County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department and the Henry County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department.
