Guilty Plea Entered for Arson Charges

OXFORD, Miss. – William C. Martin, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi, and Phillip M. Durham, Special Agent in Charge of the New Orleans Field Division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), announce that:

Wayne Allen Stoker, 44, of Oxford, entered a guilty plea yesterday before United States Senior District Judge Neal B. Biggers, Jr., in Oxford, Mississippi. Stoker pled guilty to a one-count indictment charging him with arson.

According to the Indictment, Stoker knowingly and maliciously damaged and destroyed, by means of fire, “The Dam Bar” in Grenada County, Mississippi, in violation of Title 18, Section 844(i) of the United States Code.

At sentencing, Stoker faces no less than five and no more than 20 years in prison; not more than a $250,000 fine; and not more than three years supervised release. He could also be ordered to pay restitution to his victims.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys John Marshall Alexander and Clay Dabbs.
