Former Delta State University Professor Sentenced
For Possession Of Child Pornography
OXFORD, Miss. – William C. Martin, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi, announced that:
Adam Lynde, 48, a former Delta State University professor, was sentenced for possession of child pornography on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, by United States Senior District Judge Glen Davidson, in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Judge Davidson ordered Lynde to serve a term of three years and ten months in prison. Lynde was also sentenced to serve a term of five years supervised release. He was ordered to report for service of his prison term on June 21, 2010.
Lynde plead guilty on January 14, 2010, to Count One of an Indictment charging him
with violation of Title 18, Sections 2252A(a)(5)(B) and 2256(8)(A) and (B), for knowingly
possessing a computer containing images of child pornography.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul D. Roberts.
