TWO SENTENCED FOR
THEFT OF EXPLOSIVES FROM CAMP SHELBY
Gulfport, Miss - Jimmy Lee Wilson, 48, of Gulfport, and David Eugene Bangs, 48, of Biloxi, were sentenced to federal prison for their roles in the theft of military ordnance from the Camp Shelby impact ranges, U. S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis announced today.
Chief U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola, Jr. ordered Wilson to serve 96 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release and pay a $10,000 fine. Bangs was ordered to serve 63 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release and pay a $7,000 fine.
The investigation in this case began after an explosion on January 19, 2012. The Gulfport Police, Biloxi Bomb Squad, U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Division and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Annette Williams.
