
Informational: Federal Court Initial Appearance
The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on August 19, 2010, before Senior U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert M. Holter, the following individual appeared:
SHAWN MATTHEW RUSSELL, a 23-year-old resident of Helena, made an initial appearance on a complaint alleging coercion and enticement. He is currently detained. If charged with this offense, RUSSELL faces possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and could be sentenced to life, a $250,000 fine and lifetime supervision. Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcia K. Hurd is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was conducted by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.
