The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Billings, on April 6, 2011, before Chief U.S. District Judge Richard F. Cebull, ALLEN BLAKE WHITE BEAR, a 30-year-old resident of Lodge Grass, appeared for sentencing. WHITE BEAR was sentenced to a term of:

Prison: 6 months

Special Assessment: $100

Supervised Release: 3 years

WHITE BEAR was sentenced in connection with his guilty plea to felony child abuse and neglect.

In an Offer of Proof filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lori Harper Suek, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:

On March 27, 2010, WHITE BEAR, Natasha Yarlott, and Marcia Yarlott were smoking meth in a car near a school in Lodge Grass. They were captured on the school's surveillance camera footage passing a pipe around. During individual interviews, they all admitted smoking meth.

Also in the car at the time was J.T.E., Marcia Yarlott's seven-month old son.

Marcia Yarlott and Natasha Yarlott pled guilty to federal charges and have been sentenced.

Because there is no parole in the federal system, the "truth in sentencing" guidelines mandate that WHITE BEAR will likely serve all of the time imposed by the court. In the federal system, WHITE BEAR does have the opportunity to earn a sentence reduction for "good behavior." However, this reduction will not exceed 15% of the overall sentence.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
