Michael Joseph Delacruz Found Guilty in U.S. Federal Court

The United States Attorney's Office announced that on July 11, 2011, in Billings, after a federal district court trial before Chief U.S. District Judge Richard F. Cebull, MICHAEL JOSEPH DELACRUZ, a 32-year-old resident of Billings, was found guilty of being a felon-in-possession of a firearm. Sentencing is set for October 13, 2011. He is currently detained.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Ed Zink prosecuted the case for the United States.

DELACRUZ faces possible penalties of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release.

The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Billings Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
